What if Marzilli's sudden change of personality were due to a tumor or stroke [it happens] - would the Republican party EVER publish such a low, nasty, bitchy site? Your site shows the continuing stigma attached to mental illness - and contributes to that stigma. Avoiding stigma is part of what makes Americans slow to get help and often contributes to mental breakdowns. Shame on hyou.

Shame on you! He is in a hospital right now. Many legislators have missed service time for campaigning, for illness etc. They don't get asked to resign. This is politics at a new low.

If the randy State Senator is suffering from mental illness, as opposed to cynically positing lunacy as a legal maneuver, his treatment would benefit from having the burden of public office lifted from his overburdened shoulders. Resignation or expulsion should be part of the treatment. He needs free time.

It is insulting to suggest this fine man leave office under a cloud. His specialized skills will not be easily replaced in the Massachusetts State House. In particular, his understanding of global climate change and the proper response by the state is critical for us all.

On his release from McLean Hospital, Senator Marzilli should lead an expedition to explore the tenuous state of polar bears in Alaska. No doubt our governor will support this dangerous but noble effort which will include an entourage of female assistants.

So, what`s new? Kennedy left a dying woman clawing for her precious and only life in a sinking car 45 yrs ago.

This bum`s a low-life light weight.

Hi Deb Butler, I want to sell you the Statue of Liberty. Gee, if Marzilli ran into you instead of those other poor women, he wouldn`t be trouble now.I think you would`ve responded; "sure, lets go you smooth talkin son of a gun"

I find the supporters....apologists for Mr. Marzilli to be sadly delusional and misguided. What he is alleged to have done is sexual assault - an offense that should know no politics and in any other circumstance, would have most women calling, rightfully so, for his head.

But no. Not Mr. Marzilli - he's one of us, he's a liberal, he drives a Prius, he drinks 'fair trade' coffee...certainly a man of such stature can't have committed a crime so low as sexual assualt.

And then, the excuses - a brain tumor? Ms. Butler, with all due respect, are you suffering from a head trauma of some kind yourself? If these charges are true, this man is DANGEROUS. I'll type it again really slow - DANGEROUS. Its a grope now, but in the right circumstance, what if he actually succeeds in raping a woman?

Will you then make an excuse? Will you then defame those who want justice for his crimes?

Sadly, the answer is, probably.

Marzilli should serve a lengthy prison sentence if convicted and further, should lose his State pension - donate it instead to a rape crisis center.
